Greetings from Neil & Paula and the Falling Waters community………
An up date for those desiring more information regarding Falling Waters and the Cottage Creek section....
Falling Waters is a quiet 52 acre gated community, tucked in off the beaten path…just 2.4 miles from Main Street Highlands. There are nine newer homes, all built after 2000. The community is governed by the NC Planned Community Act and our own reasonable well thought out covenants designed to enhance the peace, enjoyment & value of your property. The Mountain Laurel Tennis Club is right outside our entrance and offers tennis, heated pool, gym and club house at very reasonable rates.
There are currently eleven platted homesites for sale, priced from $159,000 to $439,000 There are 23 acres slated for future development ten of which are in Cottage Creek.
The Cottage Creek section is set aside for smaller homes (under 2,400 SF) to meet the current popular desire for downsizing. Cottage Creek will have its own entrance with landscaping, cobblestone and gas light. We have developed plans for a three home “Enclave” with its own private circular drive. The land is being cleared, septic permits have been approved and excellent water is available from our six hundred foot deep well. Not too big, not too small, cozy enough for a simple low maintenance cool summer getaway yet large enough for guests and entertaining. The homes are suitable for full time living with ample closets, storage and flex rooms… an elevator, curb-less showers and other features provide for handicap access and aging in place.
The Enclave Cottages pre construction - pre listing price starts at $590,000….The homes are custom built, with infinite options on finishes, trim, appliances, cabinetry, stone etc. We are happy to help you with information & recommendations.
Excellent homes / value in a peaceful setting, within a beautiful community just five minutes from down town Highlands….Come visit…Lets explore the possibilities.
"Striving for Excellence” These words come to mind as we think about what we want to accomplish here at Falling Waters. What does that vision look like and how can we define & then accomplish “excellence’?
What are the elements of an excellent home ?
Homes that are aesthetically pleasing inside and out. useful practical space, not too big not too small. good traffic patterns & furniture placement, meet the needs of the homeowner...accessible, entertaining, guest quarters, flex spaces, storage, privacy, light, convenience, value, comfort, low maintenance, safety, enjoyment. In summary an excellent home will bring years of pleasure to the owners... growing better with age like a good friendship or marriage.
No one home can meet all the needs & desires of everyone but we have all these considerations and more in mind in an effort to “strive for excellence”.
How do we accomplish excellence in home building?
We search out the new products, practices & materials at home shows, on line and in construction trade journals. We research market trends and forecasts to better understand and meet the needs and desires of our buyers. We network with other builders, suppliers and trades people who have the same mind set. We take this information, blend it with our own preferences and experience, chose a direction and proceed with thoughtful detailed planning. We make every effort to keep open good lines of communication with everyone. Good communication will help to reduce mistakes, misunderstandings, delays, frustration, sub par workmanship, etc.
Does “excellence” just mean higher cost?
Sometimes excellence does cost more up front... sometimes excellent building practices, planning & execution will make up for some or all of the added cost. All of the “extra cost” will come back with dividends in lower energy bills, fewer repairs, less maintenance, cleaner air and a healthy home. There is always room for excellence.
